Muskmelons are large to medium-sized melons and have a round to oblong shape with blunt, curved ends. There are several types of melons generally labeled as muskmelons, some with beige-green, rough, firm, and warty to lightly ribbed skin. Underneath the surface, the orange flesh is thick, dense, aqueous, and succulent. The flesh is mainly orange, but just below the rind, there is a fine green ring.
